They Live

There was this rather unknown gem of a movie I owned as a kid called They Live. It had this intense street brawl because one of the characters refused to put on the special sunglasses the lead character had used to see them. I won’t give up the plot because I know how much of an influence I am to you, our readers, who are going to rush out and rent this 80’s film! 🙂

Perhaps you are wondering who They are? The movie has an interesting answer to the question. I too, on a much different level, am wondering the answer to that question.

Now I don’t want to spoil the post I know Margie is going to make on this same topic (look for her Part 2 coming soon). But I want to leave you with a slight clarification of what the heck I’m actually talking about and then I’ll ask three questions of my own.

They say you aren’t supposed to wear white after Labor Day!”

Okay, there it is… that statement and many others like it I’ve heard my entire life. I don’t have a clue who these people are! But I’d like to know. So now comes the homework.

Using our comments section… answer these three questions in your own words:

  1. Who do you think they are?
  2. How do you know we can trust them?
  3. Why are we always seeking to be them? Afterall, we pass along their wisdom.
